Raising Money for Hope Captured

December is such a busy time of year for everyone. It's also the time of year that most of us empty as much of our pockets as we can to make sure our family has a memorable Christmas and for those of us who have a little extra to donate to a good cause, we do so with glee. December is a time of year to be merry and bright, to do good things for others and to come together as a community to help us through the holiday season...good or bad. I think this is also a reason Maine can be easily set apart from others during this time of year because no matter how little we have, we give and we help and we do what we can to better our community and those who live in it. It is one of the many reasons I am proud to be a part of this great state!

To do great things is in all of us. Doing good things for others makes us feel good. It's what warms our hearts and gives us a sense of pride in knowing you may have not only made someone's day, but their whole year. You can do the littlest thing to help and inadvertently touch or save a life. It's that feeling I get when I know that once I can raise enough money to start getting the word out and begin photographing my first Hope Captured families, I will have touched someone's heart. I will be able to give them something that they will cherish forever. Their gratefulness for what I will have done for them can hardly be put into words. That's the feeling I live for.

I know that this time of year is hard for many as far as finances go and I know that donating to the Hope Captured Foundation may not seem possible, but I urge you to try to give any amount you can. The cost to provide these sessions and portraits to each deserving family is about $50. You are welcomed to donate $50 to help a single family or donate as little as $10. All it takes is five people to donate $10 each and one precious family will get the much needed gift of professional portraiture. Donations can be made through the Hope Captured Website: www.hopecapturedfoundation.com.

In an effort to kick start the foundation I worked hard to begin, I will soon be releasing information on an online silent auction I am putting together. I am still looking for local businesses to donate gift certificates or items towards the auction in an effort to raise enough money to not only help at least 4 families, but to help spread the word about who we are and what we do. The families that could benefit from our services will never know we exist if we can't afford to spread the word through advertising, flyers, pamphlets, etc. You can contact me to donate an auction item or inquire about more information by using the contact page located on the Hope Captured website. I am planning for this silent auction to occur around mid January and ANY donated item will be so greatly appreciated!

That is all of the news I have for now. I will be working on getting the silent auction items listed on the website to allow for viewing before the auction begins. Please consider sharing this to help spread the word!
